Our Ministers...

...are passionate about caring for the whole person, fostering the true happiness and fulfillment that come with living out our faith.

The Congregation: Ministers to the World

The basic unit of the United Church of Christ is the congregation. All members of the United Church of Christ are called to minister to others and to participate as equals in the common worship of God, each with direct access to the mercies of God through personal prayer and devotion.

Rev. Lynn A. Sullivan: Senior Pastor

“You will be enriched in every way for your great generosity, which will produce thanksgiving to God through us.”  2 Corinthians 9:11

Welcome to the Garden City Community Church!  We love our denomination’s motto: No matter who you are or where you are in your journey in life, you are welcomed here.  Join us for worship, study, and fellowship.  There is a place for you in God's amazing kingdom.

Recently, the Council of Trustees voted on a new purpose and vision statement after an intensive and prayerful process:

Purpose Statement:  Building a community where all are enriched through Christian Love, Service, and Spiritual Renewal.

Vision Statement:  Faithfully Reaching Out, Inclusively Drawing In

We hope this is not just an exercise on paper, but a living statement that we aspire to achieve.  It is now up to each of us to go forward building a community where all are enriched through Christian Love, Service and Spiritual Renewal as we faithfully reach out to others and inclusively draw others in.

With the guidance of the Holy Spirit, the church staff continues to work toward the church revitalization program: SPIRIT initiative.  We are excited at how the Spirit is moving throughout our walls and beyond.

Lynn has a BS and BFA from Southern Methodist University, and a MS in Operations Management from the University of Arkansas before heading to New York. She continued her education with an M Div. from New York Theological Seminary and took graduate courses at Adelphi in Community Health Education. She has been active in her community and congregation’s association. She currently serves the association as Chair of the Boundary Awareness Training and a member on the statewide Commission on Ministry. She is active in the Garden City Clergy Fellowship.   She and her husband, Mark, have two grown daughters, Laura who lives in New York City and Sarah, living in Atlanta.
