[From our leader journal]:
"What was amazing on Day 1 was to meet Marie, the home owner. The instant care, compassion, and respect that the GCCC youth had for her was heartwarming. Once we had met her and heard her story we were even more motivated to work harder and faster. Not out of pity, but out of respect."

"One thing I find interesting is how the kids and leaders on the mission trip speak. They talk like they are all a big family, on the work site and off...The way we talk about our host church here is different too. Instead of calling it "base" or "the church" we simply call it "home." Because the love of Christ has been spread throughout everyone, a dusty church in New Mexico, surrounded by different people, can be seen as equal to the comforts back in NY."
