17 But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits, without a trace of partiality or hypocrisy.18 And a harvest of righteousness is sown in peace for[a] those who make peace.
It's the season of gardens! Seeds planted last year are starting to peak up above the ground. And seeds that we plant now will bloom and grow over the summer and into the fall. The scriptures talk a great deal about harvest because the idea of planting things which blossom in the future relates closely to our lives.
The decisions we make today impact our lives down the road. The kind acts that we commit to today impact the future of our relationships. How we teach the next generation impacts what our community and society will look like years from now.
The idea of a seed bearing fruit is a beautiful one. And one that involves a great responsibility! God gives us the ability to impact the future of our lives. Let us sow peace by making peace each day of our lives.
