Letting Go

Philippians 2: 1-11

“Every knee shall bow, every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord”

One of the women from the Women’s Retreat won a raffle from the Mission Trip fund raiser.  I called her and she came by today to pick it up.  She was sharing her observations in the small group discussion.  What she took away from the day was that we all have closets (secrets) and we don’t need to be afraid to share them and get rid of them.  She said, we are all women and we don’t need to carry the baggage that belongs to someone else any more.  She also felt that by sharing, and releasing our burdens, we become more attuned with the others around us.  We are hiding our problems, but lifting up each others woes.

“make my joy complete; be of the same mind, having the same love, being of full accord and of one mind.  Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility regard others as better than yourselves.  Let each of you look not to your own interests, but to the interests of others.  Let the same mind be in you that was in Jesus Christ.”

Thank you Lord, for the permission to let go of what is keeping us from experiencing your joy.
