Acts 2: 14-24
This passage appears after the day of Pentecost when the people are filled with the Spirit and speaking in each other’s languages. Peter then gives a sermon based on the prophet Joel.
“I will pour out my Spirit upon all flesh.”
Peter is showing that we are now in the Messianic age. We are all given the gift of the Spirit, not just the chosen ones.
What does that mean to us? Jesus lives in each one of us, and we have powers we didn’t even know we have. After the women’s retreat, a participant sent me an email sharing what the day meant to her. She admitted that she was thinking of not going, but had a feeling she should be there. She shared that in her small group, the bonding that took place was so special. The Spirit’s presence was felt by all.
Sometime we need a little nudging to go where the Spirit may lead. Thank God we are becoming attuned to that.
