John 3: 14-21
“For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish but have everlasting life.”
This was one of the fist verses I memorized as a child, and I learned it in the KJV . This is the Easter Message. God loves us so much that he was willing to put Jesus on the Cross, so we could live.
What does that mean to us today? How do we honor this statement?
The entire verse reminds us that while Jesus was ‘lifted up ‘ on the cross, our eternal life depends upon what we do with that information. We must look up towards Jesus and believe in him. By believing , we are living in the light.
My prayer is that during these final weeks of Lent, we become more mindful of our relationship with Jesus and become intentional in strengthening that relationship.
