Mark 11: 15-19
“And he taught and said to them, “It is not written, ‘My house shall be called a house of prayer for all the nations’?
March 8 is a similar story. Refer to that one for additional information.
“The chief priests and scribes heard Jesus and sought to destroy him; for they feared him, because all the multitude was astonished at his teaching.”
Remember the phrase, ‘It’s not what you say, but how you say it?’ Apparently Jesus has a way to speak with authority that everyone listens. It doesn’t matter what he is saying, people stop, listen and learn. Why is Jesus such a threat to the religious leaders when he speaks from his heart? Why do they want to destroy Jesus when he wants to keep the temple pure? What are they afraid of?
Holy God, keep our eyes, ears and heart focused on your Son, Jesus Christ. Let us hear him, see him and love him for the truth he is able to reveal. As we continue on the journey to the cross, allow us to see you in your beloved Son. Amen
