February 7: Matthew 25:31-46
"Then the king will say to those at his right hand, 'Come, you that are blessed by my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world; for I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stronger and you welcomed me, I was naked and you gave me clothing, I was sick and you took care of me, I was in prison and you visited me.'"
Our church is alive this morning! Our youth and their leaders are in the middle of a 30 hour fast to raise awareness about and funds to help alleviate the hunger experienced by 1 in 8 people every day in the world. Members of the church are continuing to pray for those in need in a continual prayer vigil in the chapel this weekend.
God calls us to compassion for those in need and to action to do what we can. We are the hands and feet of Christ. Help for a world in need comes through the actions of those who recognize pain and suffering, and seek out ways to heal. May your day be filled with peace as we look for ways to bring that peace to others.
