Advent Journal: December 24th

O holy night, the stars are brightly shining
It is the night of our dear Savior's birth
Long lay the world in sin and error pining
'Til He appeared and the soul felt its worth

A thrill of hope, the weary world rejoices
For yonder breaks a new and glorious morn'
Fall on your knees, O hear the angels' voices
O night divine, O night when Christ was born
O night divine, O night, O night divine

When Jesus was born, things were tough for Mary and Joseph. There was no room at the inn. But there was a light on in the stable, a warm and dry place where they were safe. And there is a light that's on for each one of us at our church this Christmas Eve. Whatever is going on in our lives, whatever trials we are facing, whatever cold and dark moments we confront, the light of this holy night shines for us. Whether we're in town, or on the road, the light of our church shines for us as well. To us a child is born. To us a son is given. This is a holy night. May we each experience the true blessing of Christmas.
