The Church offers many youth programs – for young people in the middle school through high school teen years.

Youth Program Overview:

The youth program at Garden City Community Church is designed around the vital concepts of community, education, service and spiritual growth. Our programming, which emphasizes interaction between clergy, church members and youth, teaches our young people about the Christian faith through activity-based learning. In addition to teaching the fundamentals of Christianity, our activities in the church emphasize service both within our own church community, and beyond the doors of our church. Students at Garden City Community Church learn what it means to be a part of Christ's church by participating in a community of faith, acceptance, openness and welcome within the doors of our church and then by bringing Christ's love to bear on their every-day lives. In the spirit of welcome that defines our program, we as a church invite any young people who wish to be a part of any aspect of our programming to contact the church. Our Programs:

Confirmation

Our confirmation program is an amazing two-year journey for students in eighth and ninth grade that leads up to students confirming their faith and becoming members of our church. The educational component of the program provides a broad overview of Holy Scripture, and covers the fundamentals of Christian spirituality and church life. The program also places a strong emphasis on service, providing many opportunities for hands-on participation in helping our own church and in reaching out to help others.

Youth Group

Youth Group is for senior high students and meets a couple of times each month for fun activities and fellowship. The program is designed to foster the positive themes of the confirmation program throughout student's high school years.

First Sundays

First Sundays is a youth group program for students in grades six through eight. Meetings are held on the first Sunday of each month. Each session includes fun activities, dinner, and discussions about faith and scripture.

Summer Mission Trips

Garden City Community Church sponsors a week-long summer mission trip each year for our high school students. These weeks away from Garden City focus on spiritual growth and on helping those in need. Recent trips have included projects in rural Tennessee, at the Mohawk Reservation in Upstate New York, and work with Heifer International.
