ADULT OPPORTUNITIES

The Garden City Community Church offers many opportunities for fellowship through Sunday morning forums, bible studies, The Reader’s Circle, “Women Only” gatherings, events for the men of the church, special seasonal services, the Tuesday morning prayer service and the Thursday Luncheon group.

Events are lead by our clergy, guest lecturers and members of the congregation. All are welcome to join and grow in faith.

SUNDAY MORNING FORUMS

The Forum is held in the Parlor each Sunday morning at 9:15. A wide range of topics are offered. The schedule is available on the monthly calendar.

TUESDAY MORNING PRAYER SERVICE

A prayer service in held each Tuesday morning at 9:30 in the Chapel.

THURSDAY LUNCHEON

On the second and fourth Thursday of each month the seniors of the church and community are invited to the Parlor for a program. All are asked to bring lunch. Dessert will be provided.

FOR WOMEN ONLY

For Women Only Bible Study

Held on the first Tuesday of the month, the “Women Only” Bible Study series delves into a topic of interest to the group. Recent topics have included “Spiritual Disciplines”, “Women of the New Testament”, “Women around Jesus Christ” and “Bad Girls of the Bible”.
Bring your lunch and join us in the Parlor at noon!

Reader’s Circle

On the second Tuesday of every other month, the Reader’s Circle gathers in the Parlor. As a group, the participants decide on the book to be discussed at their next meeting. The volunteer hostess provides lunch and dessert for the group.

Ladies Night Out

Throughout the year the members of the Reader’s Circle and all others who would like to come along meet for a movie and, if time allows, dinner. When possible, the movie relates back to the books that the group has read.

MEN ONLY

On the first Saturday of each month the men are encouraged to gather at the Lantern Diner in West Hempstead for breakfast.
The group meets at 8 am. All are welcome.

The Men’s Retreat is generally scheduled for a Saturday in March.

FALL BIBLE STUDY

This series is usually held the six weeks prior to Thanksgiving.

LENTEN BIBLE STUDY

The Lenten Bible Study series includes the Ash Wednesday service followed by the four Wednesdays of Lent. It also includes the Healing Service and the Maundy Thursday service.
