Mission & Outreach
A church does not live unless it is giving to others and, by that giving, building up
the Kingdom of God here on earth.
As Christians, the congregation of the Garden City Community Church is committed to doing Christ's work here on earth. Mission outreach is an important way that we, as a church community, demonstrate that commitment and extend the work of the Church beyond our membership by creating ways to reach out and serve the community.
The following are some of the ways we reach out to the local community and the world at large.

Mission & Outreach Dollars at Work
Mission is an important part of Christian stewardship at the Garden City Community Church. We believe supporting others through the gifts of our time, talent, and financial support is one of the foundations of who we are as Christians. In recent years, the Church Mission donation has been between $72,000 and $85,000 of its annual budget (approximately 10-15%) to financial outreach. This outreach supports a variety of organizations and programs.

Committee for Christian Social Responsibility
The Committee for Christian Social Responsibility has two main purposes. The first is to facilitate communication between the United Church of Christ Metro Association, the State Conference, and the local Church. The second is to make the congregation aware of social justice issues that should be addressed.
To those ends, the committee offers weekly forums - presentations by speakers on a wide variety of topics. Speakers have included politicians, social workers, theologians, attorneys, accountants, professors, visiting missionaries, and many of our own members who have special experiences or knowledge to share
Board of Outreach
The Board of Outreach acts on behalf of the congregation to direct our mission outreach, providing spiritual and financial support to those in need. Those organizations who receive our support are in some way significant to our church and its members. We believe the organizations represent the values, goals and vision of our congregation.
