The Garden City Church Community Theatre

The Garden City Church Community Theatre is a church based theatre ensemble that presents an original musical production every spring.

Founded in 1996 by Brad and Ruby Gustavson, The Garden City Community Theatre reaches out to the local community extending the goodwill and warm spirit of Christian fellowship in a safe and wholesome environment. With the support of Reverend Jim Adelmann and the help of long time church members Ced Melkonian and Barbara Seale, they presented their idea to the Council of Trustees. With the Council’s blessing and financial support, the first production, It’s A Fine Life, debuted in 1997.

Over the years, many new cast and production members have been welcomed into the Community Theatre. Families have performed together and worked backstage hand-in-hand; kids have grown up with the Community Theatre, and many new friendships have been formed while working together to stage the productions.

Today, many GCCT productions have a cast size of more than sixty adults, teens and children that perform to sell out crowds. In addition to the traditional Broadway style, many new productions often incorporate a mix of music genres and original storylines.

The theater group seeks to provide an opportunity for parents and their children to do something together that is fun and productive. The laughter and applause provide memories to share for a lifetime.

Rehearsals and performances are held in Gardner Hall of the Garden City Community Church.
