Race and Justice in Our Communities.
Join us for the second of four consecutive weeks to gather as a faith community to discuss the tensions we face as a result of the recent Grand Jury Verdicts in Missouri and New York.
Combined with the facts of these cases, we will reflect on scripture and sacred texts, hear presentations from law enforcement officials, the judicial system, theologians, Biblical scholars, and personal testimonies.
At the wrap up session, our hope and aim is to strategize a plan of action for moving forward.
Participants are encouraged to view the film, Selma, in advance of the study. Selma is based on the 1965 Selma to Montgomery voting rights marches. It will have limited release in the US on Christmas Day and will open nationwide on January 9th.
