About the Auxiliary
When the Auxiliary was formed in 1930, just one year after the birth of the Garden City Community Church, its mission was to promote the purpose of the church and to raise funds for the furtherance of that work. Today the Auxiliary is open to all adult church members and still performs a vital function within the church by focusing on fundraising.
Auxiliary Fundraising Events
The Auxiliary’s major fundraising event each year is the Americana Fair, which is traditionally held in early November. It is greatly anticipated and well-known throughout Garden City and surrounding communities. The Fair takes place in the church and offers shoppers a wide variety of gently used merchandise - china, linens, books, jewelry, toys, attic treasures, handbags, and more - all donated by church members. It also offers a silent auction for items of greater value. In addition, local vendors are invited to sell their boutique items. Other fundraising efforts include a Chrysanthemum Bridge event, which is typically held in the Fall. Our church members also bake pies and cakes for sale on Palm Sunday.

We Need You
The Auxiliary needs your help to function efficiently and remain an effective organization within the church. We welcome all participants. There are many ways you can contribute:
- Help with the Americana Fair by baking, sorting donated items, pricing merchandise, selling on Fair day or taking charge of a room.
- Help organize or participate in the Chrysanthemum Bridge or any other fundraising event.
- Join the Auxiliary Board.
- Support the Auxiliary with your membership dues.
Membership Dues
Individual membership dues are $20.00. Family membership dues are $25.00. This money helps to offset the operating expenses of the Auxiliary. All Church members can support the Auxiliary and its mission by paying dues. The Auxiliary begins collecting dues in January for the upcoming calendar year. Checks should be made payable to the Garden City Community Church, and “Auxiliary Dues” should be written in the memo section.
